AKABA
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the specific and comprehensive use of the principles of learning, including operant and respondent conditioning, in order to address behavioral needs of widely varying individuals. At AKABA, we primarily use ABA as therapy for children with autism to ultimately improve their quality of life and the quality of life of the whole family.
AKABA uses an individualized, scientifically-validated, behavioral approach to helping individuals develop and build on their personal, academic, and social skills. Our therapy professionals assess where each individual is in terms of the foundations of learning, and for each person, we build from there according to the family's goals, and at the optimal individual pace for each client. Using a positive approach that is often perceived as games, we help individuals replace unproductive behaviors such as aggression with helpful, rewarding behaviors such as listening, adherence, and play.
